About Us

My name is Adam Stone, and I have been turning wood for three and a half years now. My wood turning journey began when I started making fishing lures. After about a year of turning I had learned to really enjoy turning wood because turning the wood reveals all of the beauty hidden within a log. I began to expand my skills by turning bowls and wooden boxes. I recently started turning hollow forms and urns, which really was a challenge at first. Hollow forms are very challenging yet enjoyable to turn and complete. Hollow forms are a work of art and require a good bit of skill and confidence to turn.

I have upgraded lathes several times over the past few years because I either out grew them or the lathe was not suited for what I was using it for. Currently I am using a Powermatic 3520b lathe. I am extremely happy with the Powermatic and I feel as though it will last me for years to come.

Making fishing lures also encouraged me to work with other wood working machines. I also do other types of wood working such as scroll saw work, custom wood work, and a small amount of cabinetry. I also like to look back at some of my older projects and see how much I have learned and improved. I have enjoyed my voyage into wood working and hope to continue to learn new skills and be encouraged to continue by my previous work.
